.. _final-exam: Final Exam ========== **Date and Time:** Thursday, January 9th 2026 **Duration:** Exactly 140 minutes .. admonition:: Exam Day Instructions :class: important **DIRECTIONS:** Read all of the following **before** you click **Start Quiz**. The timer will not start yet. **Exam format and allowed materials** - This is an **open notes, closed book** exam with **limited internet access**. - You may print hard copies of any material. - **No internet connected devices** are allowed, including phones and tablets. **Exam timing** - There is a **24 hour window** to complete the exam. - Once you start, you will have exactly **140 minutes** to complete the exam. - If you start too close to the end of the window, you may be cut off. Plan accordingly. **Technical requirements** - This exam uses **Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor**, which require a **microphone and webcam**. - You will have limited access to anything on your computer or the internet. - Your exam environment must align with the video demonstration on the course website (see *Interactive Learning Tools, STAT 350*). - Ensure you have a working **scientific calculator** with **no internet capabilities**. - A scientific calculator is available inside LockDown Browser, but it is not recommended. **Behavioral expectations and academic integrity** - You are expected to uphold the Purdue University honor code. Cheating will result in an **automatic failure of the course**, and a report will be filed with the Office of the Dean of Students. - You are not allowed to **talk during the exam**, including to yourself or others. This is monitored. - **No earbuds or headphones** are allowed unless you have specific DRC accommodations. - You may not leave the computer once the exam has started except with prior approval. **No bathroom breaks** are allowed. - It is prohibited to take pictures of the exam or retain any copies of the questions after the exam. - All normal distribution probabilities and percentiles must use the **z table**. You may not use a graphing calculator for these calculations. - Unless stated otherwise, all numeric answers should have **four decimal places**. - If your webcam is not positioned to show you and your writing area during the exam, you will receive a **ZERO (0)**. - Not following these rules, including talking to others or accessing unauthorized material, will result in a **ZERO (0)** and being reported to the Dean of Students. **Calculation rules** - Unless stated otherwise, all numeric answers should have **four decimal places**. - For the written response question, show your work and calculations as clearly as possible using proper, formal notation. **Preparation recommendations** - Have scratch paper and something to write with. - Create a crib sheet summarizing necessary information. - At the end of the exam, you will be required to tear up all scratch paper while the camera is still recording. **Technical issues** - A practice environment is available on Brightspace to test your equipment and computing environment. Ensure everything works correctly before the exam. - Make sure your computer and internet connection are reliable before starting. - Choose a quiet location that will remain quiet for the duration of the exam. If you cannot access a quiet location, consider contacting a testing center. About the Final Exam ------------------------------------------------------------------ The final exam is a **comprehensive assessment**, covering the full scope of the course. This final exam will assess your progress towards reaching all course objectives with a heavy focus on post exam 1 materials.
